POSITION:

1.To provide a technical and diagnostic service within the service department.

2.To diagnose faults by utilizing modern diagnostic equipment to maximize effective vehicle service and to interpret findings.

3.To discuss service details with customer as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

1.To have served a full apprenticeship in the Diesel Trade (MERSETA).

2.Valid South African driver’s license.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Meeting the agreed-upon selling hours.

2. To carry out fault diagnosis to aid and speed vehicle servicing.

3.To ensure faults are accurately diagnosed to customer’s satisfaction.

4.To co-operate in vehicle care and safety whilst dealing with vehicles.

5.To ensure the vehicle care and safety is maintained during service and repair.

6.Ensure diagnosis leads to most cost effective and accurate remedy to fault or customer complaint.

7.To always be ready to give advice or use techniques which ensure quality but save time.

8.To provide a fault finding and system diagnostic service on vehicles to aid and speed the work of mechanics.

9.To complete forms (Job Card) and documentation included in the company’s service routine.

10.To draft and repair any reports required.

11.Maintain effective liaison with Service Manager/Foreman.

12.To ensure that any communication to RSA/Apprentice/Technical Assistant is clear and answers to queries raised.

13.To be prepared to make suggestions and give advice regarding any special promotional campaign.

14.To take part, if required, in such campaigns.

15.To test drive vehicles when required to ensure fault is corrected.

16.To make recommendations on specialized equipment required providing updated service and repairing facilities, to cater for state of the art innovations on vehicles.
