Main purpose / objective of the position:
Maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior of buildings. General assistance to the facilities manager.
Decision making authority:
Decision making is limited and specific. None additional to those taught to the incumbent are required to perform the job.
Experience / Education:
Minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent, and/or approximately 5 years relevant experience.
Technical and mechanical.
Basic building maintenance skills.
Carpet laying skills.
Must be able to work with electrical carpentry equipment.
Painting products and techniques.
General safety standards.
General knowledge of working with electrical equipment.
Initiative, Customer and quality focus, Teamwork and co-operation, Problem solving and decision making.
Major drivers of work volume:
Work orders and schedules.
Interface / relationships with:
Internal: Facilities Manager, Client, Team members.
External: Contractors, Client, Tenants
