Vacancy Description:

Eaglestrat is currently recruiting self- driven, determined graduates with an ambition to succeed. The graduates may be in Commerce, Marketing, Social Sciences, LLB, Corporate Communications, Psychology, International Relations, HR or any related University Degree in Social Sciences, to collect data via an online survey to on behalf of the Information Regulator.

The study is in the health care Sector. Data collection will be between 3 April and 21 April 2023.

Background

The Information Regulator (Regulator) is undertaking a pilot research study on Computer Technology and information processing used in the health sector, and the impact on data subjects (patients and employees.

The pilot research is undertaken to give effect to section 40(1)(b)(ii) of Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPI act).

The Regulator has appointed Eaglestrat (Pty) Ltd to conduct the pilot study. Eaglestrat requires x5 dynamic interviewers to get a cumulative total of 56 randomly yet systematically selected health practitioners to complete an online survey questionnaire or interview respondents and complete the online questionnaire on their behalf, to enable the effective implementation of the above-mentioned provision of the POPI Act by the Regulator.

The survey will be conducted online in four provinces:

Gauteng, E. Cape, W. Cape and KZN.

In instances where there is need to press for higher response rates, the surveys may be conducted face-to-face, or online or at the site of the health facility, after scheduling an appointment with a respondent.

Planned sample breakdown

The respondents will be Information Officers or Deputy Information Officers, Heads of Department, Medical Doctors (GPs) and Pharmacists according to the health institutions listed in Table 1.

The GPs will be systematic randomly selected ensuring a balanced mix across all race groups (i.e. African, White, Indian and Coloured). The random systematic sampling will also ensure representation of the different types of locations in which they operate, that is according to CBD, Suburb, Township, Informal Settlements, and/or Rural location.

Remuneration

Interviewers will be remunerated as follows:

R300 payable bi-weekly, after 14 days of Eaglestrat receiving a successfully completed questionnaire.

Plus R30 for airtime and data per completed, submitted questionnaire Total = R330 per successfully completed online questionnaire.

Airtime money may be provided on a weekly basis should the interviewer need assistance to enable them to call respondents. No airtime or data will be issued in advance. The interviewer must first interview respondents, obtain consent to participate (4-minute consent form) by a respondent), immediately after which the airtime (per respondent) will be paid retrospectively to interviewer by Eaglestrat.

Student Criteria:

Graduates in any of the Commerce and Social Sciences Degrees mentioned, and more.

It is assumed that graduates will have conducted some form of research to obtain their Degree.

Key responsibilities:

You will be part of a small team that is required to contact Information Officers, Deputy Information Officers, Heads of Departments or Managers, Pharmacists and GPs in Public hospitals, private hospitals, Pharmacies and GPs, inviting them to voluntarily participate in the online pilot data collection o.b.o Information Regulator.

You will be required to either schedule an appointment with the respondent for an online interview, otherwise, email or what’s app the link of the questionnaire if the respondent prefers to complete the questionnaire by themselves.

Send respondent a short consent form link which must be completed before completing the main questionnaire, which is also by a link, via Survey Monkey.

Send or call with follow up with reminders.

Prospects for future permanent employment

This is for graduates needing to gain work experience, as well as wanting grow with the company and/ or its related projects.

High performers stand a chance for appointment into permanent positions in Eaglestrat or its various projects.

The one project that will follow immediately after the completion of this pilot study is an events-based sponsorship raising and promotion project for the Academy of Humanity, which comes with a stipend plus commissions, again with great potential for good permanent positions for well performing individuals.
